[Known Issue] Stuck Helicopters - 2/3 Bugs Fixed.

UPDATE!!! 


Hi All! 


We have just updated STEAM with a fix for the issue where the helicopter gets stuck leaving for an expedition. his means we should now have fixes for both instances of the stuck helicopter. 


The out lying instance is staff can still become invisible, but we're testing fixes for this.  


This update is now live on PS5 and Steam and will be pushed to Xbox as soon as possible.

Hi Everyone,


We're so sorry that some of you have had trouble with stuck Helicopters, both leaving for and returning from Expeditions. 


We're doing everything we can to solve the problem. 


If you have this issue and you are playing on Steam, please could you help us by adding your save to this bug or by sending them to support@twopointstudios.com? 


To add a save, follow this navigation path in file explorer: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Museum. Once located, "Zip" the folder up (right click and you should see the option) and then upload as a reply.


For the issue where the Helicopter is stuck at the start of the expedition, you can try this work around:


Using the Drag Demolish Tool from the foundation menu (pictured below), or by placing a building over the helipad, should "sell it" meaning you can buy a new one. We've seen in many cases that this will free up the staff so you can start again.

As for stuck helicopters returning, you can try the above but some users have reported that it sadly didn't work. 


In these cases, saves are vital for us to unpick the events leading up to the sticking.

Email with save file has been sent, was to big to include here. I tried the work around and it did not work, the bug happened to me before the helicopter left I can cycle through to get to the character that was picked to go on the expedition but they are invisible and all options to pick them up or interact with them are grayed out like the helicopter pad.

Is there an option to send through the save path from off a Mac? I wasnt able to locate a save pathfile through Finder

Sorry about this! 


The Mac file path should be: ~/Library/Application Support/com.twopointstudios.twopointmuseum.


We're currently testing some fixes so hopefully this will be resolved soon!

This happened to me on the science museum level and deleting didn't work. The helicopter still couldn't take off and could not be deleted or picked up.  My janitor was heading to the mission and is either invisible or stuck under the map, I even demolished the entire museum and that didn't fix it.  My concern is that she will probably never resign if she is heading to a helicopter and this may have just bricked my playthrough.  I have been unable to load a previous save to solve this issue, restart that specific museum, pick up the employee, see the employee,  fire the employee, pick up the helicopter, delete the helicopter, cancel the mission or anything at all in the direction of resetting.


I will send my save file when I get home from work.

The drag delete in the foundations tab has fixed this issue for me a couple times for freeing up the helicopter and letting my employees return to work but on the ghost level, deleting the helicopter let it work again and let new employees use it but the two that were in the helicopter got stuck on the map. I can see them and click them but cannot pick them up or fire them. They just stood there until their needs went to zero and they quit but even then they stayed on the map with the little fired or quit icon above their head. After like 30 mins, they just disappeared.


I also had 3 botanists on the same map and two of them randomly stopped moving. I tried to place both near a flower to water it and then lost the ability to pick them up again. They also just stood there until their needs went to zero and same thing.

Hey i cannot heal my prehistory expert by dragging them to the bandage box. The only message it showed was "get some rest". I tried to drag the staff to everywhere in the room but it's either invalid or "rest". I also tried to reboot my PC and steam, but none of them worked.

I'm not sure if this is the same bug, but when I try to start an expedition the staff members that are meant to be going immediately freeze in place, their needs depleting and just stand there doing nothing. I can't interact with them in any way because they are meant to be leaving for the expedition. Usually I can cancel the expedition, but it happens every time I try to start the expedition. One time it wouldn't let me cancel it and just acted like the the expedition had already left and only let me fix it by deleting the helicopter. For now I have had to stop playing the game because I can no longer go on expeditions.


I am playing on Steam Deck so I'm not sure where to find the save file. This is happening in Passwater Cove and I'm trying to go to Marina Junction for the first time. 


Edit: I just tried again this morning and it worked this time after manually fixing the frozen state my staff were in. I had the bug on the 6th which I think is the day after the patch was released, and my game was up to date at the time.

Ah never mind, it just happened again on a new expedition. The bug doesn't seem to be fixed.

Has there been any update to this issue? Both helicopters are stuck in my save. None of the prior suggested methods unstick them. It's made my campaign mode unplayable. ​

My original issue was due to staff doors and that was fixed by a recent hotfix. However, I just tried to send two janitors off on an exhibition. One got into the helicopter and no one else got in with him. The helicopter is now stuck unable to leave and the helipad can't be deleted using drag demolition.

There aren't any other janitors in my museum that are supposed to be leaving on an exhibition according to my staff list, even though I selected two for the expedition. Also, I think I had three janitors before and now it just says I have two.

Bonjour, ayant eu le bug aujourd'hui, j'ai trouvé une astuce de détruire l'hélicoptère dans l'onglet des murs, papier peint et compagnie. Et comme même en remettant un hélicoptère toujours le soucis, j'ai trouvé le soucis. Les deux employés devant partir ce sont totalement bug et ne sont plus ramassable ni rien d'autres. Du coup en faisant attention de ne pas les mettre en expéditions ça a remarché. Hélas même en démissionnant au bout d'un moment car complètement bloqué sur la piste d'atterrissage et bien ils ne partent pas et me coute un salaire TT J'étais en stream sur twitch au moment du soucis (lemondedeshaki) si jamais ça peut aider et j'ai eu le soucis sur le musée des "aliens" au moment des planètes fromages. Mais du coup je ne sais pas si c'est pas plutôt des personnages qui se bloquent et non l'hélicoptère.

Exact same situation for me too. This is a game breaking bug and has stopped my progression through the campaign.

This is still an on going issue. I can demolish my helipads, put them back down, and they work maybe once or twice before it happens again. Luckily, I'm far enough in that I can afford to do that. This would be game breaking for anyone starting a level. It's also really annoying to have to constantly delete them, pick my workers up to unfreeze them, put the helipad back down, select everything again, and HOPE it works. Really hope there is a fix soon.
