Not sure if this is a bug or not, but for some reason, no matter where i place my tour in the museum, the tour guide insists on starting from the front door making all tours other than the one at the start of the museum far too long.

I’ve had that happen until I rotated the tour platform.  I’m on steam.
The tour pathfinding is consistently choosing suboptimal routes, including backtracking, going the long way around through other rooms and doors even when two items are twenty feet away.  This will persist even when I delete the route and restart it.  I can sometimes force it to choose a better path by reordering, or rotating an item, but then when a new guide takes over, they’re back to taking the long way around.

I’m also having this issue on Xbox. Doesn’t matter how I place tour stand  it chooses really whacky routes (making tours too long)

Hey OrionGamma331,

Sorry to hear this!

It does sound like a bug. Can you tell me what platform you are on?

Thanks,

Chizel

Hi Chizel

This is on PC :) Had the issue in multiple museums. It does seem to self correct eventually but i havent found a pattern to it yet unfortunately.

I'm having the same issue. The tour route takes really bizarre loops out of the way for no apparent reason, which decreases the tour rating because it's always too long. I'm on PC

I am having the same issue. For an example at Momento Mile, I have the floppy disk etc in that front parlor. I set up the tour to go from 1->4 one after another. After the second exhibit, the tour is then going to the front door before proceeding to the third.
Other places are having similar issues. I've only so far been able to rule out these bugged paths on tours with only 2 exhibits. PC on Steam

Hi All,

Sorry about this bug!

We're not having much luck reproducing it at the moment.

If you're on PC would you please be able to upload your saves to this bug for us so that we can see the issue in action?

To upload a save you'll need to zip (compress) the Two Point Museum folder.  On PC Follow this navigation path in file explorer to find the folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Museum. Once located, "Zip" the folder up by right clicking on it and you should see the option.

If you don't have an option to do this, you may need to download a program to help. I use one called 7zip which can be obtained here. The top option - ".exe - 64bit windows..." should do the trick. Once zipped up, you can attach it to your reply.

Thanks for your patience,

Chizel

Hey,

I'm also having some weird issues with tours sometimes taking big loops around the first exhibit which is not ideal. No matter what angle i change the tour stand or the exhibits, they always start off in a long loop.

Here is a screenshot

Can't add save file because it's over 5Mb which is the limit for posts?

Update: I've encountered it a few more times and it seems that there just needs to be a clear path from the back of the tour stand (behind where the guide stands) to the placard of each exhibit in the tour. Too close to a wall behind it, benches, wide info stands, clusters of decorations seems to create an obstacle it tries to account for.

Original:

I'm not sure what causes it but I noticed that when I rotate the tour stand 180 degrees (just pointing in the opposite direction), uncheck all the exhibits and recheck them, it resolves it. You can even rotate it back to where it was. I tried to record it once I realized that fixed it but it fully fixed it and couldn't reproduce it lol

I am also running into this bug constantly (playing v1.2.176857+2025-03-04.0027 on PS5) — almost every single tour I set up will attempt to path through an unrelated doorway, sometimes on the complete opposite end of the map. These are not doors that are necessary for the tour to go through, and deleting or relocating the doors, the tour stand itself, or the exhibits only occasionally fixes the problem, and more often simply changes which door the tour attempts to path through

I've had this bug on Xbox as well, sometimes trying to set up tours for exhibits near each other picks the weirdest pathing where it walks away from the exhibit you're trying to add before doubling back to go to it

Sometimes fixed by deleting the tour stand and getting a new one but not all the time
