Mitton University: Lots and lots of Robo Construction

Howdy y'all -

This is my second run-through of 2PC - and I'm replaying the Mitton University scenario. One of the things that drives me a little batty - and not just the decor they want - is that I keep having to add a LOT of new Robo Construction rooms to my level each year and beyond. The result is that I now have 30 of them in my building, and they're asking for more!

Is this a bug, an error or an intentional feature???

Yours truly,
Muffed in Milton!

Hi RDDewberry,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Can you let me know the following?

  • Have you set your student intake to a specific number each year?
  • What platform are you playing on?
  • Did this issue happen on your first play through?
  • Is this second playthrough in a new Save Slot?

I'll do some investigating, but the above would be useful to know.

Thanks,

Chizel

Hello again!

My apologies for the delay.

I have not set the intake to a maximum level per year - as it has been holding around 58 all the way through level 9. (I try to get as many students in as possible.)
I'm playing on PC using STEAM as the background engine.
Yes, the same issue popped up on my first run through the game - with much the same issues. I would build the rooms as requested by the level, then when I returned after saving, it was asking for 2 (or more) rooms to build for the next year. I would add these rooms, and I'd get the same issue if I saved & return to the game later on (I.E. without time in the game progressing forward.) It is as if it is double/triple counting the number of required rooms for what is actually needed in the level to make it work right. The result is that my Level 9 in Mitton now has a rather stunning 35 Robo Construction rooms with only 3 Robo Creation (The one with the hand) and only 3 Lecture Theaters.
This second run through is in a second slot - I keep the original one open for when new levels are added to the game (I,E. New DLC levels) or for when I want to re-run a level to see if I can improve on what I've learned elsewhere.)

If I can give you any more information, please let me know - I'm very happy to work with y'all on this - as it's truly an amazing (And highly addictive) game that I <REALLY> love playing.

Hi RDDewberry,

Thank you for providing that information.

So that I can investigate your issue further, would you mind sending across your Two Point Campus folder? To do so follow this navigation path in file explorer: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Campus. Once located, "Zip" the folder up (right click and you should see the option) and then send it as an attachment to campus-support@twopointstudios.com

Can you also include a DXDiag? The steps for this are in the following link: https://support.sega.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/201556491-Creating-a-DXDIAG-Report.

Please add a description of the problem and a link to this thread when you send your email.

Thanks,

Chizel

Hi Leebee8501,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this too.

Are you also playing on Steam?

If so, please send me your folder using the steps above and I'll take a look.

Thanks,

Chizel

I have had this same problem.  What appears to happen is that it underutilized the rooms when you look at course scheduler.  I have gotten around it by picking up a robo construction room and just putting it back down, and that seems to fix the scheduling issue.  But you should do this after making any changes in course management as that resets the room need, and then you will need to do this pick up and put down strategy again.

So, I also have this same problem at Two Point University.  It starts after I increase the student count for robotics past 32 students.  Then the course schedule seems to put all first year classes to May.  So, at 40 and 48 students, it just keeps adding robo construction class requirements.  I have 3 lecture room, 2 Robo Design rooms, and 9 robo construction rooms for 48 students in each of the three years (144 students in total).  The crazy thing is that it schedules a first year lecture in May and there is a professor there with zero students.  All the first year students are in the robo construction room: 8 taking Robo Tours: Inside the Lab; and 40 taking Killer Appliances: Someone Set This Thing to Evil.  This also requires you to hire a bunch of additional teachers that just sit around most of the year.  At Two Points University, I cannot fix the problem by just picking up and dropping the classrooms.  You can see course scheduler below which shows the problem:

The same thing is happening to me, but I’m not playing on Steam, I’m playing on Xbox One. I have 15 Robo constructions so far and it’s asking for 18, it’s under utilizing the slots in the schedule which is bizarre. I was able to kind of fix the issue by deleting Robo constructions halfway through the year and then replacing them with new ones to finish the schedule, but that’s not technically a fix. I looked at a few of these other posts and they are from almost a year ago, are you guys telling me this still hasn’t been fixed? Please fix this issue!

Hi Chloeliz84,

Sorry to see you have run into this bug!

We're working on a fix, but in the meantime, if you close a Robotics Lab and then reopen it, you should see that the lectures are scheduled into the available space. Repeat this process until all lectures are scheduled.

Thanks for your patience,

Chizel

I have just purchased the game recently and also seem to have the same issue with my game always requiring more and more Robo Constructions each year. Right now I'm on Summer Break Year 12 and the game wants to build three more Robo Constructions again for a total of 14. I have 130 students with Student intake of 42 students. I have 5 empty slots for the month of May, but yet it's making me build more rooms! Is it something to do with the creation of the Robot? It is on Mitton campus and I love using this campus for research so I like to continue here but this is becoming pretty frustrating.

I purchased the game on Steam.

I "fixed" it by picking up some of the rooms and putting them back down as suggested above, but this is still a strange bug. I would love you to take a look and find a fix please and thank you!

Hi Deeterx,

Thank you for adding that info. Apologies the bug is affecting you.

We're still investigating this issue. Can you tell me if you sold any of your original Robotics Labs at any point?

Thanks for you patience,

Chizel

I've had this problem on my PS4 over more than a year ago, sad to see that it's still a problem (and nowadays on Steam for me). It's the same as Electra77 posted. All the classes have to be in May for some reason, with teachers. I tried to just keep a lower cap of students which helps a bit. I wanted to use that campus to farm some kudos and do some research. Bums me out that everytime a year passes the whole "pick up a room, drop it, if that doesn't work, plant a new one and sell it"-routine has to take place, because the new rooms are getting out of hand.

Hi I've been testing this.
After level 5, irrespective of the number of students, it will ask you to add 2 Robo Construction rooms(but no teachers) until you hit 12.
Then it's happy.

I have 50 Robo construction rooms now and each year it asks for 2 more.  I've played it since release, currently in Mitton trying to get achievements. This has been going on for a while. 192 students, no messing with settings, campus level 54. I have picked up and moved rooms but it doesn't change how many extra RC rooms are needed.

Deleting rooms lowers level but has no impact on the number of rooms reqd.

Hi Kazonia,

Sorry that this bug is affecting you. We're still trying to figure out the cause!

The best work around is to close your rooms and then reopen them. Doing so should nudge the auto scheduler to fill the rooms properly.

Thanks for your patience,

Chizel
