Nintendo Switch :: Can't save anymore :/

I love this game, but is gettin me mad.


I purchased every single DLC but I can't use at all. the reason, since Aug 2022 I can't save any more, every time I save the game and close it whenever I open the game again it's in the save of Aug 2022.


I deleted the game and installed again an nothing, there is no way to generate a new saving. please let me know how to solve this, or if I need to delete my saving and start everything again.

Yea I've had the same problem since December I've told chizel one of the devs about it a few times and what sort of error msg iam getting on the map thought the recent update might have sorted it but it has int. I know it's the space academy dlc that's causing the issue but they can't seem to find the root of the problem I've got a second account that's got the base game only and it saves fine but had four or five crash still on the game

We're really sorry about this issue. We have added more reporting capabilities with the recent update that we hope will help us pinpoint the problem. Please make sure you opt-in to sending Game Error Information.


Bhoys013 rightly mentioned that the issue became apparent after the Space Academy DLC launched. Would you both be able to remove your DLC to see if doing so means your game will save properly again? Removing the DLC will not remove your saves on the DLC levels, so you can return to them after redownloading the DLC.


The steps to remove DLC can be found here on the Nintendo Website.

I have this exact same problem and I haven't purchased the space academy dlc yet because of the save issue. Its becoming really frustrating.

Hi chizel done what you said to do same things are happening this is without the dlc download funny how it's affecting my main account but the secondary account is working fine?

As I mentioned above, could you all please make sure that you have opted in to error sending and then let me know the following when you next play and experience the issue:

  1. The date and time you experienced the problem. Please also include your time zone.
  2. Please confirm how full your internal storage is.

Dear @TwoPointChizel sorry for the late response, hard week just have time now to pick my console.


I did everything, delete the software, re downloaded without DLC's.

No changes, I continue the game, save and close the software, when open again, last save data from Aug 2022.

My time zone is UTC+2

I´m not sure about the storage but I have 45.8 GB free in console and 226GB free in card.

I played today 21.04 at 23:05

You mention that the last save data is from August 2022. Do you know if that was the last time you saved before this issue occurred?

Mine keeps going back to the last save I had which was 9/7/2022 10.05pm. 

That was my last save and has not saved since then :/

Thanks for adding this information.


Something that has jumped out to me here is that you both seem to revert to a save that is from last year. 


Could you please check to see if you have a cloud save? To do so open System Settings > Data Management > Save Data Cloud. 


Don't do anything other than check the save here for now, and let me know what you find.

Hi, Chizel, I don't have a cloud save data. It says you need to be a nintendo switch online member to be able to save cloud data. I don't have a membership for that. But it used to save fine before this issue, I never had any trouble saving before now.

Yes I have the cloud active.


Regarding the last, yes more exactly my last save was 26.08.2022 10:59 PM, I received an update and installed it, then tried to quick save the game and no changes at all, once reopening the game last save keeps August 2022.

Hi @TwoPointChizel, hope all is going well,


It's being a hell season plus TOTK took all my time, but now I'm back.


I tried today again multiple activities and keep failing:

-  Create a new game

- Deleting the existing one and creating a new one

- Just deleting and closing the game

- Start a challenge, save and close the game.


Every time I start the game again is looks with the last save 2022, also something I realized is that the sandbox tab is deactivated and shows that I need to gain at least one star to play this mode, like if I never started. But, when I open the existing file and back to the initial screen, this mode is active.

Also every time I close the game, my login in 2points is off.


Honestly, the overall situation is upsetting and frustrating as I bought the full game including the DLCs and I can't play it.

There is any way to start all from scratch? I don't mind loosing 20 hours of gameplay, better than loosing 50 USD because the game si broken.

Hi, 

Any news on the save issue? I've just played it after months of not playing as the save issue is ruining playing! I've just played the game and saved, gone back into the game and the save issue is still the same ? reverts back to my save from last year! I loved playing this game but I feel I've wasted my money really ??
