I just started playing today and I'm on the tutorial level where I'm supposed to build a science classroom and hire a teacher. I hire a teacher and put them in the classroom and start the school year. I waited at least 5 minutes and nothing happened so I restarted my game and did exactly what I did before and still have the same problem. What can I do so I can progress in the game since this bug should not be happening.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble! 

A common issue newer players can come across is that they accidently pause time by pressing the left stick. Can you confirm that this is not the case for you? You can see what game speed you are set to by looking for the orange highlighted symbol at the bottom right of the UI.

I’m having the same problem. The game is not paused. People are walking around and demanding stuff, but the class never starts.

Sorry to hear you have had trouble with the first level. 

We're investigating this issue, but some other players to report this have found that adding another teacher resolves the problem.
