Version: 1.5 Update

Description: When Teachers don't have classes, they will always be at the "Looking for Work" (a newspaper status symbol) status rather than "On a Break" (a cup with Two Point status symbol). As a result, most of the Teachers will constantly be at 0% energy, since they cannot regain energy unless they are officially on break.

Setting up a higher break percentage cannot force them to go to break, nor can summer break. The only way to force the Teachers actually to go to break is to manually click the "Take a Break" button one by one. This bug will only happen to Teachers; Assistants and Janitors will take their breaks normally.

would be nice if they did take there selfs on break when not teaching , i agree , they run really low on energy,

You have mentioned that the Teachers do not take breaks since 1.5. Does this mean that you never experienced the problem in previous versions?

If a teacher is not taking a break have you checked that they are not too busy and that they have enough time between classes to fulfil all of their needs? You may need to hire more teachers to ease the work load.  

The Staff Room can be utilised to do an awful lot for staff needs. Try getting the prestige high and place items like the Snack Table and Pulpitation vending machine in there. If you also click on the "Policy" tab of the "Staff Management" overview, you can increase the need threshold for taking a break, which should help get them to the staff room for a break more often.

Feel free to post footage or screenshots of the issue for me to see, if the above doesn't help.

Hello! 

I can confirm too that my teachers are not taking breaks unless I press the button manually for each of them too.

With a threshold of 40% and a staff room at 12 prestige beside them. They do go through the motions of being on break, but don't actually regain energy even if they spend a while doing nothing but sitting on a couch.

I can't speak for before 1.5 since I only started playing a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for adding this information.

We have identified the issue and hope to have it fixed soon. 

We are also hoping to fix a bug that should mean any teacher in the staff room will gain energy as a passive bonus for being there.

I would like to add that I have also seen this.  

I just found it funny seeing one or two of my teachers drag themselves around with 0 energy, desperately searching for work when none was available, unable to relax.

HAs this issue been resolved? I'm halfway through the year and mulitple teachers are at 0 energy. I have 2 extra teachers and 2 large staff rooms (prestig 12)  in both main buildings.

This has been happening on the first map also, but then I manually sent them on break.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with staff not taking breaks. 

Could you tell me what platform you are on?

Could you also please check your "Need Threshold for Staff Breaks" In the "Campus Overview" menu on the "Policy" tab?

The threshold for Staff Breaks was at the default 20% setting.

So that we can see the issue first hand, would you mind sending across your Two Point Campus folder? To do so follow this navigation path in file explorer: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Campus. Once located, "Zip" the folder up (right click and you should see the option) and then send it as an attachment to campus.support@twopointstudios.com
