So I play on the Switch, and occasionally when I have been trying to build a new building and I go down the list, the moment I will stop (and before I can hit A), it will send the cursor right back to the beginning. Sometimes it works normally and sometimes it takes 4-5 times to get it to let me build a new building further down the list. This has happened most recently on Mitton University and Noblesteed, but probably happened on the other two campuses and I just didn't think anything of it. 

Secondly, I've followed some advice I liked on Reddit and I adjust the student intake to be multiples of 8. When I adjust it, and before I've saved the changes/applied them, I go to double-check that I updated it and often I'll find some weird wonky number like 47 that isn't actually possible. I'll go in to adjust it and it will be correct, but it shows up differently when hovering over it. Sometimes it's incorrect when I go in to fix it, but mostly not. This has happened multiple times across multiple courses but again, mostly over Mitton and Noblesteed because they're the last two I've played.
