Same issue for me in Switch handheld mode - I can’t zoom in enough, and I’ve accidentally sold items when trying to click on the bookworms. The “hit” area is too small and they move too fast most of the time. On a PC, I’m sure it’s much easier when you can use a mouse. 

It’s only slightly easier to target monobrows in TPH, that’s for sure.

That's interesting to hear! I've seen some Switch players having difficulty (and we've fed this back to the team). I'll let the team know it's more of a controller thing in general rather than just Switch :)

I don't think it is just a controller issue.  I only have a 27" monitor and I find if i spot them imediately when they pop ut by the time i move my pointer to them they are already disappearing if my mouse is not close to them already.  I am older and may be slower but they do feel a little too speedy.

I have had big time trouble catching bookworms in that it seems they take forever to spawn when I do get one it takes at least 30 mins or more before I can find another one spawning,.
