Guys I am on year 16 of Molten Rock in the Medical DLC. I have been on 26/27 plots for a few years now.

My campus has over 40 love benches, 55 statue if love, 13 Rose Gardens, 20 tree benches, 46 love trumpets, 3 tunnels of love, 46 love trumpets, 36 double jump beds and I can't seem to get more than 5 soulmates. I have tried playing constant romantic movies to give them ideas and it didnt work. What more can I do at this point? How does this actually work?

I have the exact same problem as you ?

Did you find a solution? I lost sleep just doing years and years without any soul mates coming up.

Hi TomNewcomb,

Really sorry to hear that this plot objective is causing you trouble.

It is definitely one of the harder ones to achieve on Molten Rock but hopefully the following tips can help you:

  • The amount of Relationship Items you have can be reduced. Having so many variants could stop students from using the "better" (for xp and this objective) Relationship Items. The quantity of each item doesn't affect the ability to develop the relationship.
  • Running constant Romantic Films and Events will actually reduce the free time students have. For a relationship to develop the students need free time. In their free time, the students will arrange to meet at one of the above items in your list if they both meet the criteria to do so.
  • If possible run another course that isn't Medical focussed. I would suggest "School of Thought" as this is 4 years long so that gives students more time on campus to develop relationships.
  • To become Soul Mates the students need 3 or 4 meet ups. The best combo of items is - Love Benches and Tree Benches which will get the students to level 2 after a couple of meetings, followed by a Love Tunnel. After one use at level 2 they should exit as a soulmate.

I hope this helps,

Let me know how you get on!

Hi Chizel,

Thank you so much for your helpful comment it did help me understand how the mechanics of this worked. Success I did end up collecting all three stars. I really appreciate your help!

For anyone else who is stuck with this, I did greatly reduce the amount of relationship items- they aren't needed everywhere. I noticed I began to form a lot of romantic relationships but after a few years of having the love items Chizel recommended seemed to stop producing results. I began deleting them and replacing them in new position which caused it to start making romantic relationships again and it finally went over the 12 soulmates needed. You can't just have the items there and leave them, you need to keep modifying them.

I would say- I ended up beating the level at the end of my 24th year. In comparison to the rest of the game I think I got three stars between year 7-9 on most levels. I am sure I am not the only one who is struggling with this plot.

It would be great if there was something more I could go to influence my students to have romantic relationships- like how you can promote a particular club by selecting an option In the menu.

Thank you so much for your help again! It is really appreciated! Your a hero!

I removed all the club items as well as I noticed a lot of club meet ups happening. The less the student have to do then the more likely they are to interact with each other.  Going to see if that works as well
