Hi Naecabon,
We're still investigating this issue, but could you tell me if you are using our public BETA branch?
The BETA branch has some updates to Zoning and we need to know if your issues occurred with them included.
If you're not on the Public BETA branch, feel free to try it, but make sure to back up your saves before you do, because saves will become corrupt if you go back to the default branch.
Thanks,
Chizel
Zoning does not work, basically at all.
I am not sure what the intended mechanics are meant to be, one would assume assigning a staff member to a zone would mean that staff would dedicate their work shift to operating anything in that zone they are allowed to operate. One would also hope that they would take breaks in staff rooms or bathrooms located within that zone.
Currently, the following are true:
- Staff members completely ignore the zoning placement and wander wherever they want, when they want.
- Attendants will literally quit their job and leave the zone if assigned to it. The second I assign a Cafeteria worker to the Cafeteria zone, they leave their post behind the counter and walk away. This also happens to my ticketers and others.
Zoning seems like it would be an incredibly handy way to micro manage your staff in what is meant to be a management simulation game, but right now it essentially does nothing and actually functions opposite of what one would assume is its intended purpose by forcing people to leave their post.
Also should mention, this is currently happening on the Mile map. Previously I did not seem to have this issue of workers leaving their post on some of the other maps, but they absolutely ignored the borders and would wander out of the zone area if their job included moving around.
