Frame drops in PC Game Pass version

Heyo, having issues with frame drops after about 5 minutes of playtime where the FPS goes from a steady and easy 165fps to 80fps, and then later down to 40fps.

I haven't had these issues with any games prior, or on Two Point Hospital.

Running a 2080ti and have no issues with other games, and the initial run of the game is super smooth at 165fps, just not sure why it's dropping down after a short period of time. I've verified the integrity of the game twice and have up to date drivers/have restarted the PC.

Any help is appreciated :)

Thanks!

Hello blossomu!

I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue on PC game pass, If you could please send us some more detail we will look in to what's happened, you can attach the file to this forum thread. If you could send us some system information that will help to diagnose the problem; you can do this by attaching the DXDIAG.

How to get a DXDIAG: https://support.sega.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/201556491-Creating-a-DXDIAG-Report

Additionally, If you could also attach your logs so we have everything that we need to narrow down the issue. If you could go to this folder; "C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\"

and send the whole folder that would be most appreciated.

Thank you!
Jax

Hi,

I got the same issue (Gamepass & Windows 11). To me this looks like some memory leak. The game starts fast with arount 2,1 GB RAM and, keeping a savegame running in the state before the year starts the memory grows. Around 2,5 GB its getting noticeably slower becoming unplayable at close to 3GB RAM, where also the menu and everything lags like hell.

Hi @TwoPointJax

I have this same issue with the Gamepass version on PC. Stuttering/lagging after an hour or so, particularly in campuses with lots of students.
Turned down the graphics, lowered framerate, turned off vsync, updated drivers... no good.

Hope they hunt down this one down because I love the game otherwise!

Here's my files just in case it helps!

Just to add, Im on the xbox game pass on PC as well on a aorus 11800H 16gb ram 3070 win11 laptop system, most up to date drivers for OS and GPU. No issues running ultra graphics for 12 hours sometimes aside from my laptop running wicked hot in this summer heat!

Edit: I spoke too soon, I've done the one star requirements for each of the campuses until I unlocked the Hogwarts one and the sports campus. Went back to all the other campuses to get the 3 stars. It started to drop my fps once I went to Milton, or idk, the one old neo classical campus getting into robotics. Normally would get <250 fps. Now, I'm getting <45 fps, dipping into low 30s. Hard to enjoy it with fps dips like this.

I hope you guys can fix it (and give us more DLC's) soon!

Edit 2:

Here's a screenshot of Nvidia's Performance Overlay. It's alright for the first five minutes, fps up to 150 but after than it starts to slowly dip into very low 10s. It's so painful to see and frustrating :(

Edit 3:

Likely a saved game/memory issue. I tried a new game, played the first scenario up to 3 stars, and I didn't have the fps problem.

Hi All,

Thank you for sending your DxDiags and screenshots!

I have passed them on to our programming team to see if there is any obvious reason for your performance issues.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Heyo~

Just an update to say that, after the most recent patch, I'm still having the FPS issues. Unfortunately hasn't been solved with the stability improvements.
